- n臍帶/胎盤幹細胞(Umbilical Cord /Placental Stem Cells)-出生時。
- n成熟/成人幹細胞(Mature /Adult Stem Cells)-出生後到死前,多功能性,少數種類為全功能性。
依功能分
- n單功能幹細胞(Unipotent Stem Cells)-只能更新成單一種的成熟幹細胞.。
- n多功能幹細胞(Multipotent Stem Cells)-可產生有限的它種功能型細胞、組織、器官。
- 如血液幹細胞可生成紅血球、白血球及血小板。
